WHAT IS MAK?

Mid-Atlantic Kombat, at a fundamental level, is an event planning group dedicated to running organized and efficient Mortal Kombat tournaments for both high and low level players all up and down the East Coast. But in the grand scheme of things, MAK is so much more than that! We are a community, a community with a common love for high energy organized competition and a common desire to see the rebirth of the Mortal Kombat franchise recognized as the fantastic game it has become! And like any good community, we strive to help each other grow.

Based primarily out of Northern Virginia we work in cooperation with our parent group We Hit Buttons (WHB) to provide a premier fighting game scene in and around the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. Most of our events take place at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA affording us the perfect meeting ground for players as far north as New York and as far south as the Carolinas. Priding ourselves in our ability to maintain a low stress, high energy, competitive environment with high quality stations and a reliable schedule our goal is to become the goto venue for high level Mortal Kombat play.

If you've never been to a MAK event before you are truly missing out! We are loud, we are boisterous and we are always for putting on a show! You can expect HYPE, you can expect sodium chloride and you can even expect a bit of trolling for flavor. But it's all in good fun and everyone shakes hands at the end of the day. Win or lose we're all about having a good time, and we welcome all like minded competitors to join us in the endevor!
